Coach & Learn – Free Computer Classes for Tuolumne County Residents

January 5, 2016

For Immediate Release: We are pleased to announce the commencement of free basic computer classes for Tuolumne County residents.

The Coach and Learn Computer Training Program, a community collaboration between ATCAA, Central Sierra Connect, Mother Lode Job Training, Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office, Columbia College and the Tuolumne County Library, will be offering basic computer and basic internet classes on a variety of days and times at the Tuolumne County Library main branch, Mother Lode Job Training in Sonora and Columbia College. In addition there will be a drop in session most Mondays at the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office. Classes will be taught by local technology experts each possessing extensive teaching experience. Class length will be two hours and consist of both lecture and hands on learning. No experience is required as both classes are structured for residents new to computing – including those who have never touched a device. There is no charge for either class.

Additional information is available by contacting the Coach and Learn program at: 536-8757 or

This program is made possible by grants from the Sonora Area Foundation and the California Emerging Technology Fund

Will there be any Basic Computer and Internet classes in Tuolumne County in May and June, 2016? I would like to publish the information in the NAMI Tuolumne County Newsletter

Hi John! Sorry we didn’t get back to you on here during 2016 — program funding had died down for quite awhile, but we’re currently re-vamping CSC and will have funding for the next 3 years. There are currently Coach and Learn classes offered every other Wednesday at the Tuo Co main library: Please watch our Facebook for future class schedules!

Sorry we missed your comment last year Marvin. Program funding had died down for quite awhile, but we’re currently re-vamping CSC and will have funding for the next 3 years. You can call 209-536-8757 for current info about Coach and Learn, or check our Facebook: Hope you were able to get assistance with the Live Photo Gallery, or that we can assist you in the future!

I attended the 3/8/17 class and learned alot of background. You had my name down on the roll sheet as Larry Paul. The name is really Larry Hall. I am registered for the March 29 email class. If there are classes on Wed April 15 & April 22 i would like to be in those. I will learn something no matter what the class is called. 209 532 52222

Hi Larry! Sorry for the delayed response — we’re just now re-vamping the CSC program (and website) after a long funding break. I’m glad you found the March class useful, and I hope you were able to attend more classes in April. We’re holding classes every other Wednesday this summer, and will post future schedules up on our Facebook:
